Pekov I.V. In development of some issues of museum science in the field of mineralogy. I. On the specifics of mineralogical collections, pp. 1-5
The article is devoted to the individual characteristics of mineralogical collections that distinguish them from the collections of other objects of inanimate nature. These features are important for understanding and evaluating the general cultural significance of the mineralogical collections and individual exhibits in them. A wide intraspecific diversity, often often most pronounced precisely in visually defined characteristics, important in the museum-collection aspect, is a striking feature of a large number of minerals. In many cases, when evaluating mineralogical samples, the decisive role is played by their “unmeasured” characteristics, perceived “through feelings”, primarily compositional characteristics. This brings together exhibits of mineralogical collections, which are valued, inter alia, for aesthetic merits, with piece-wise, "non-serial" works of art, and determines, in particular, the need to take into account the "artistic" aspect in assessing the significance of an exhibit of a mineralogical collection, and brings together the expertise of such exhibits from art history, deducing it is from the plane of a purely scientific and utilitarian assessment.

Pekov I.V. In development of some issues of museum science in the field of mineralogy. II. On Different Aspects of the Importance of a Mineralogical Sample, pp. 6-15
The article is devoted to various aspects of the scientific and general cultural significance of the mineral sample, primarily as an exhibit of the mineralogical collection. Various characteristics of the mineralogical specimen are discussed, objective (museum-collection quality, rarity, unusual) and subjective (degree of knowledge, historical value, etc.), criteria for their evaluation and corresponding assessment systems, as well as approaches and specific methodological techniques that can be use in museum work when characterizing the significance of a mineralogical sample and to highlight outstanding exhibits of mineralogical collections. Special attention is paid to the duality of the concept of “rarity of a mineral” and the appropriateness of its definition in the museum business through the total number of authentically diagnosed samples of this mineral present in the collections.

Pekov I.V. In development of some issues of museum science in the field of mineralogy. III. On the concept of "mineral discovery" in the broad sense and its characteristics, pp. 16-22
The article is devoted to the concept of "finding a mineral" in the broad sense, which is defined as the entire set of samples of this mineral found (collected) at a given mineralogical object (location of the mineral). The issues related to the indicator of museum-collection quality of mineral finds are discussed in most detail, criteria for its evaluation in application to various minerals and corresponding evaluation systems are proposed.

Borisova E.A. Book of MB Chistyakova “Stone-cutting products in the collection of the Fersman Mineralogical Museum of RAS", pp. 23-26
In 2019, a monograph by Marianna Borisovna Chistyakova was published, dedicated to the description of the collection of ornamental and precious stones of the Mineralogical Museum named after A.E. Fersman of the Russian Academy of Sciences. On February 6, 2019, there was a presentation of this publication, published with the help of the Gokhran of Russia and sponsor E.E. Bogomolov.

Generalov M.E. In the wake of the Danish Italian. Collection of Antonio Chetti (Antonio Cetti) in the Fersman Mineralogical Museum, pp. 27-34
New data are published about Antonio Cetti and his mineralogical collection, acquired for the Kunstkamera in 1806 and later merged into the collection of the Mineralogical Museum named after A.E. Fersman. The information obtained helped to clarify the possible period of its formation, to connect samples to this collection for which authorship was not indicated or inaccurate in the documents of the museum.

The article is a summary of the main scientific results of the employees of the Fersman Mineralogical Museum of RAS (MinMuseum RAS) for 2018. Brief descriptions of 31 new mineral species are given: horseradish, rhabdoborite- (V), rhabdoborite- (W), manaevite- (Ce), paraberceliitis, whitework, zubkovit, achirofanit, aleutite, elasmochloite, canauerite, udinite, arsenudinite, akoperite, akoperit, (La), Radekškodaite- (La), Glaskovite, ferrierite, Dalnegorskite, red matte, Antophagastite, Pliniusite, Jarjemskyite, Alekskhomyakovite, Milanriderite, Kruenite, Falgarite, Badakhshanite- (Y), Nataliya-Kulikit, Avdey Perdeit.
The current results of the mineralogical study of the Arkhangelsk diamondiferous province, the Pamir pegmatites, the fumaroles of the Tolbachinsky dol and coal fire sublimates of Ravat, the rare-earth mineralization of the Mochalin Log and the thallium mineralization of the Vorontsov deposit in the Urals are summarized.
The results of studying olivine of magnesian skarn and rare finds for igneous rocks of extreme magnesian olivine (Fo> 96) and olivine containing up to 0.48 wt.% P2O5 are presented. In olivine of magnesian skarns, a substantial titanium content was first recorded. The data on the composition of chromium spinelide inclusions in olivine from the volcanic rocks of Kamchatka are summarized.

Sandalov F.D., Koshlyakova N.N., Pekov I.V., Yapaskurt V.O., Khanin D.A., Sidorov E.G. Cassiterite from fumarole exhalations of the Tolbachik volcano (Kamchatka): chemical composition and morphogenetic features, pp. 60-70
In the present work, cassiterite of fumarole genesis was first characterized. It was found in the deposits of the active fumarole Arsenatnaya (Second slag cone of the Northern breakthrough of the Great Fissure Tolbachinsky eruption 1975–76, Tolbachinsky dol, Tolbachik volcanic massif, Kamchatka), where it is closely associated with “salt” minerals - sylvin, halite - and alkaline sulfates of the group aphthalitis, as well as with anhydrous arsenates of Ca, Mg, Na, Fe and Cu. Cassiterite here is represented by “fluffy” soft radial-radiant aggregates of fine-needle to hairy crystals in the cavities, which is a consequence of rapid crystallization from the gas phase. It also forms a sagenite lattice on hematite, which was recorded for cassiterite for the first time.

Pekov I.V. In development of some issues of museum science in the field of mineralogy. IV. On extraordinary mineralogical objects and their significance, pp. 71-79
The article is devoted to questions of the importance of mineralogical objects - the locations of minerals - in the scientific, museum-collection and environmental aspects. Extraordinary mineralogical objects are discussed, their importance scientifically and generally culturally, criteria for classifying a mineralogical object as extraordinary, the principles of ranking them by significance and a classification scheme proposed for this, taking into account, among other things, the nature of the mineralogical material originating from this object.

Kasatkin A.V., Skoda R. Find of Kirkyite at the Berezovsky gold ore deposit (Middle Urals), pp. 80-85
A rare lead sulfovismuthite-sulfoarsenite Kirkyite Pb10Bi3As3S19 was installed by us in a sample from the Berezovsky gold ore deposit (Sverdlovsk region, Middle Urals), stored in the systematic collection of the Mineralogical Museum named after AE Fersman RAS under the number 71444. The mineral forms inclusions up to 50 microns in size in kozalite. The empirical formula of the Kirkite Pb9.92 (Bi2.91Sb0.18) is Σ3.09As2.97S19.01. The parameters of the monoclinic unit cell are: a = 8.582 (18), b = 26.12 (4), c = 8.80 (2) Å, β = 119.8 (2) °, V = 1711 (6) ų. Kirkiit was found for the first time in the Russian Federation.

The article is dedicated to the oldest employee of the Mineralogical Museum named after A.E. Fersman, Marianna Borisovna Chistyakova (1929–2015), who worked at the museum for more than 60 years and was the custodian of funds and expositions of the collection of precious and ornamental stones.

The discovery of native tellurium in sublimates of high-temperature fumaroles in a natural underground coal fire in the tract Kukhi-Malik near the village of Rawat in the Fan-Yagnob coal deposit in the Sogd region of Tajikistan is described. Tellurium is represented by well-formed prismatic crystals (0.1 mm), on which the faces m {10¯10}, ¯e {01¯12}, r {10¯11} are most developed, and a number of unidentified forms are less common with {0001}. In association with tellurium are Fe and K sulfates, Tl and K sulfate, and anglesite. Tellurium crystals are zonal; the central part is enriched in selenium (up to 10 wt.%). The physical properties and main reflections of the X-ray powder diffraction pattern are presented.

In 2017, 110 years have passed since the publication of the first issue of the periodical of the museum, now bearing the name of Academician A.E. Fersman. The article gives a brief overview of the issues of the journal for the first decade of its existence (the period from 1907 to 1917–1918).

A description of the finding of β-VO (SO4) pauflerite in the sublimates of high-temperature gas emissions from a natural coal fire in the Kukhi-Malik tract near the village of Ravat, Fan-Yagnob coal deposit, Tajikistan, in brecciated siltstones. Pauflerite crystals are elongated-prismatic, measuring 40–100 microns; simple forms: b {010}, m {101} (most developed), e 110}, p {111}, δ {212}. Doubles are observed in (010) (?). The mineral is transparent, green, fragile. Glitter glass. Powflerite is optically biaxial, 2V close to 90º. The dispersion of the optical axes is very weak, v> r. The plane of the optical axes is perpendicular to the elongation of the crystals; np = 1.733 (2), nm = 1.778 (3), ng calc. = 1.823 (4). Pleochroism: by Ng - green color, by Nm and Np - light green. Absorption scheme Ng> Nm> Np. Composition (cf. 3 ann., Electron probe data, wt.%): VO2 49.87, SO3 50.01, amount 99.88. The empirical formula is V0.97O (S1.02O4). The parameters of the rhombic unit cell (Ǻ): a = 7.392 (3), b = 6.272 (2), c = 7.064 (3). For the first time, a powder x-ray and drawings of powderedite crystals are shown. According to the presence of the mineral phases V, Cd, Mo, Tl, Bi, Sn, In, Sb, Se, Te, As, the sublimates of a coal fire at the Fan-Yagnobskoye deposit are close to the sublimates of the volcanic fumaroles of Kamchatka, Kuril, Italy, due to the common extraction mechanisms the gases of these elements from the host rocks, their transfer and deposition in the unloading zones.
